Inside the NextGen Virtual F&I Process

When we designed NextGen Virtual F&I, the goal was straightforward: to provide dealerships with a scalable, compliant, and customer-friendly finance office that operates virtually, yet feels like it’s right inside the store. Here’s what that process looks like from start to finish.

Step 1: Receiving the Credit Application

The process begins when the dealership sends a lead or credit application. Our Virtual Finance Department immediately reviews the information, verifies details, and prepares the deal for submission. This ensures nothing falls through the cracks and that every deal starts on a solid foundation.

Step 2: Submitting the Deal for Approval

Once the application is reviewed, the Remote F&I team connects with the appropriate lenders. By leveraging integrated lender platforms, we secure approvals quickly and structure the best financing options for both the dealership and the customer.

Step 3: Communication with Dealership & Customer

A true Remote Finance Department doesn’t operate in a silo. Throughout the process, our team communicates directly with the dealership staff and the customer. This seamless coordination ensures that everyone is on the same page regarding approvals, stipulations, and deal structure.

Step 4: Presenting the Finance Menu

One of the key innovations of Virtual F&I is our interactive menu presentation. Using a live video feed from the finance manager, customers experience a personal, face-to-face discussion of their financing options. Every product is explained transparently, allowing customers to make informed decisions in real time.

Step 5: Waiver & Product Acknowledgment

After the finance menu is presented, the customer signs a waiver form acknowledging the products they chose and those they declined. This step not only protects the dealership with clear compliance documentation but also ensures the customer understands their decisions.

Why This Process Works

By streamlining the flow from credit application to waiver acknowledgment, the NextGen Virtual Finance Department delivers:

From My Automotive Roots to a Virtual Finance Future My career in automotive began back in 1997 when I stepped into my family’s dealership in Tucson, Arizona . Over the years, I worked nearly every role—from sales and sales management to finance and ultimately general management. What defined much of that journey was building and running the finance department . I learned early on that structure, technology, and process could transform not just profitability, but the customer experience . That background is what led to the creation of Elite FI Partners and ultimately the launch of NextGen Virtual F&I —a solution designed to help dealerships scale their finance operations without compromising compliance, profitability, or customer connection. What is Virtual F&I? Virtual F&I creates a dedicated, virtual finance department for dealerships. Instead of relying solely on in-store staff or struggling with turnover, dealers can plug into a scalable, fully staf...

Is Virtual F&I the Game-Changer Your Dealership Needs?

In today’s increasingly digital and efficiency-driven retail landscape, dealership leaders are being asked to do more with less—fewer people, tighter margins, and growing compliance demands. That’s where Virtual F&I comes in—not just as a temporary solution, but as a scalable, long-term strategy. At Elite FI Partners , we created NextGen Virtual F&I for dealers who need the horsepower of a professional finance office without the overhead of hiring and training in-house. Not Every Dealership Needs Virtual F&I—But Many Could Benefit Let’s be clear: not every dealership is a fit for a virtual finance department. If you’re already operating with a full in-store finance team, have a strong process, and your PVR is where you want it, then a remote solution may not be your top priority. But for stores where the GSM or sales team is wearing the F&I hat, or where you’re expanding to a second rooftop without a proven desk manager to structure deals or present menus,...
